Be Sensitive; CASE SensitiveMany search engines are case sensitive. Searching for Dogs and Cats may return different results than searching for dogs and cats. (Imagine what happens if you search for dOGs aND cATs?) The way it typically works is that lower case searches return all results. If you use any uppercase letters, it will present those sites first. (This is an important tip in creating web sites. Proper use of upper case can help your search rankings. Overuse of capital letters can hurt, so use them properly.) For example, if you search for george washington, it will return pages containing george washington, George Washington and GEORGE WASHINGTON. If you search for George Washington, the sites that are spelled George Washington will appear before those with all lowercase george washington. Again, remember to experiment with a search that isn't working for you. Try capitalizing the first word in a phrase or capitalize each first letter in the phrase. If you want to limit your search to title and subtitle text, this is an easy way to attempt it. |
