Many SEO firms offer Link Campaigns (“Paid Links”), which are not only against Search Engine’s webmaster guidelines, but are also usually very easy to detect, as shown by SEO Engine™’s Paid Link Detection Analysis™. However, a more intricate detection of Link Campaigning is done through analyzing the Anchor Text which is used in this Link Campaign. Typically a large amount of incoming Anchor Text will be duplicated, thus causing an unnatural “outlier” of Anchor Text which is easily detected by SEO Engine™ and other Search Engines. Search Engines will negatively weight the duplicated Anchor Text just as it would when it didn’t trust the source of that Anchor Text. This indicator can be used to “clean up” the Anchor Text coming into a particular Website, thus increasing the value of each Link Flow® Share.
