Market Focus™ is what a Search Engine thinks a Webpage is about when
calculating things like SEO Engine Score™ and other internal
metrics. Market Focus™ is a critical component of a Webpage, since it is
essentially how a Search Engine determines things like relevancy, context, and
category.
In the early days of Search Engines, the Market Focus™ would be
determined by simply looking at the META Title information on a Webpage.
This has since been replaced with more advanced technology, which incorporates
many different pieces of information to determine the Market Focus™ of a
Webpage. Note: Market Focus is not the same as keyword/phrase query matching —
what a Search Engine does when a user types in a keyword
or phrase. Market Focus™, rather, is an
internal Search Engine metric. It is slightly
different in that it does not include specific high
occurrence "stop words". For instance, if
it included the word "best" or "free", a large
percentage of Webpages on the Internet would have the
same Market Focus™! This would obviously not help
a Search Engine determine the relevancy of two or more
Webpages and/or Links.
